The poor and early church: video of John Barclay

My supervisor here at Durham, Prof John Barclay, recently gave a plenary address at the Houston Baptist University conference on Early Christianity. Here is the video of that paper, entitled, “‘The poor you have always with you.’ Why it mattered to the early church to give to the poor.”

If you are at all interested in reading his forthcoming book on Paul and the Giftthen you will want to hear his mind and heart in display in this video. Fascinating, and convicting, work.

Look for the book to be released by Eerdmans later this summer.
